# Setting up System Roles

Once you have created a new URL you will want to create a Project so that you can start to upload Standard Libraries and Study Drafts. However, you will also want to invite other team members to the Project and you will want to grant them [Roles](../urls/project_roles/index.html.md#project-roles) within the Project so you can control who has permission to perform different actions.

In TrialGrid Project Roles belong to your Organization. They are defined once and can be used in every Project, in every URL your Organization owns. They are set up by someone whose Organization Role has the "Administer Permissions" permission. If that is not you, ask them to set up the roles you need.

To set up a Role:

1. Go to your Organization home page.
2. Click the **Project Roles** card.
3. Click **Add Project Role**.
4. Enter a name for the Role and switch on any permissions you wish this Role to have.
5. Click **Save**.

At the start it is advisable to create a Super User role with all permissions. As you develop working practices with TrialGrid you can create new Roles with fewer permissions and switch users to those Roles.

When you create a Project you can assign yourself this Super User Role straight away, giving you full access to work in the new Project without any further setup.
