Settings TrialGrid Ltd support sets for you
Some settings apply to your whole Organization and can only be changed by TrialGrid Ltd support. You can see their current values, but not change them.
To see them:
Go to your Organization home page.
Click Settings in the actions at the top of the page.
Use Download Excel or Download PDF to keep a copy, for example with your validation records.
To change any of these settings, email support@trialgrid.com.
General
Setting |
What it does |
|---|---|
Domains |
The email domains your Organization owns, such as example.com. When someone who does not yet have an account is invited with an email address at one of these domains, their new account joins your Organization. Email addresses typed into an Action that sends email must be at one of these domains. |
Credential Store |
When stored, the Medidata Rave and iMedidata accounts that users enter are kept between sessions. When not stored, they are removed each time the user signs in or out, so users enter them again. |
AI Features |
When enabled, AI features such as custom function summaries and test case generation can be used. TrialGrid Ltd support can also turn AI off for an individual user. |
AI Agents |
When enabled, AI Agents can be used. Agents must also be switched on for the user, on the Org Team Members page, and for the URL, in its settings. |
Monthly AI Cost Limit |
The most your whole Organization can spend on AI in a calendar month. When it is reached, AI features stop until the next month. |
Daily AI Cost Limit Per User |
The most each user can spend on AI in a day. A user who reaches it can use AI again the next day. Other users are not affected. |
Invitation Timeout |
How many hours a person has to accept an invitation. When none is set, the TrialGrid default is used, and the Organization Settings page shows how long that is. |
Show Running Test Cases |
When enabled, the navigation bar shows how many test case runs are in progress, with a link to them. |
Security
If your Organization uses Single Sign On, your identity provider sets the password rules, so this section only shows the Single Sign On connection and the new location email.
Setting |
What it does |
|---|---|
Minimum Password Length |
The fewest characters a password can have. It is never less than 9. |
Require Uppercase Character, Require Lowercase Character, Require Number, Require Special Character |
When enabled, each password must contain at least one character of that kind. |
Block Breached Passwords |
When enabled, a password that has appeared in a known data breach cannot be used. If the breach check service does not answer, the password is accepted. |
Password Reuse Limit |
How many of a user's recent passwords they cannot use again. |
Password Expiry |
The number of days after which a password must be changed, counted from when it was last set. When it shows Never, a password does not expire, but a user who has not signed in for a year must reset their password. |
Email on Sign-in from New Location |
When enabled, a user is emailed when their account signs in from a new location. See below. |
The new location email
The email tells a user that their account has been used from a new location or browser. If it was not them, the email asks them to contact TrialGrid Ltd support straight away.
TrialGrid remembers the last 20 networks each account has signed in from. A sign-in from any other network sends the email.
A network is a group of nearby internet addresses, such as one office or one home connection. Signing in from a different computer in the same office does not send the email.
A user who signs in from many places, such as a phone on mobile data, may be emailed more often.
The first sign-in that TrialGrid records for an account does not send the email.
TrialGrid remembers networks whether or not the email is enabled. So if you ask for it to be turned on, users are not emailed about places they already sign in from.
Test Case Settings
The first three settings change how test runs check results. Use Marking Group in Query Steps changes the steps the Test Case Advisor writes. The rest are the starting choices in the Create Tests window. Users can change those each time, and their browser remembers their last choice.
Setting |
What it does |
|---|---|
Allow Multiple Queries in Test Results |
Medidata Rave only. When enabled, a test step still passes if the query it expects appears more than once on a data point. |
Allow Whitespace Differences in Test Results |
When enabled, a query that differs from the expected text only in spaces or capital letters still passes. |
Allow All Events to Be Added |
Veeva only. When disabled, a test step that adds an event which is not Unscheduled fails. |
Use Marking Group in Query Steps |
When enabled, query steps created by the Test Case Advisor include the marking group from the check's action, when it has one. |
Unknown Date Scenarios, Additional Scenarios, Extended Scenarios, Additional Log Records, Additional Folders, Repeat Scenarios For Folders, Repeat Scenarios For Log Records, AI for Custom Functions |
The starting choice for the option of the same name in the Create Tests window. |

Setting |
What it does |
|---|---|
Email on Role Assignment |
The starting choice for new URLs. When it is on, people given a Role while a Project is created are emailed. Each URL can change this in its own settings. Changing it does not affect URLs that already exist. |
